Grok Imagine Ranked #1

Hey folks,
Vercel just launched skills.sh. Think of it as an app store for AI assistants. You browse a directory of pre-built capabilities (writing React components, reviewing code, generating marketing copy), pick what you need, and install them with a single command. It works across Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, and others. Stripe shipped their own skills within hours of launch. The bigger picture: AI assistants are moving from general-purpose tools to customizable ones where you plug in exactly the capabilities your team needs, like building a team of specialists instead of relying on one generalist.
Today in AI:
โ xAI's video AI ranked #1, and it has native audio

Let's dive in..

๐ฌ xAI Just Dropped the #1 Ranked Video AI

Here's what makes this different from the wave of video AI tools we've seen: Grok Imagine generates video with native audio baked in. Characters speak with distinct voices. Background sounds match the scene. Dialogue has natural pacing and turn-taking. No separate audio editing step. You describe what you want, and you get a finished clip with sound.
The capabilities go beyond basic text-to-video:
Text-to-video and image-to-video โ Start from a prompt or bring a still image to life
Video editing โ Restyle scenes, add or remove objects, and control motion in existing clips
Native audio โ Dialogue, sound effects, and ambient audio generated automatically
480p and 720p output โ 15-second clips generated in under 20 seconds
The visual quality stands out because lighting stays physically consistent, characters move with coherent body language, and focus behaves like a real camera. This is xAI's biggest generative model launch to date, coming three weeks after their $20 billion Series E round.
Worth noting: Grok Imagine launched in the middle of ongoing controversy around xAI's content filters. French and Malaysian authorities have been investigating Grok for generating inappropriate content, and xAI recently restricted image generation to paying subscribers only. The API has safety controls, but the company's track record on content moderation is mixed.
For your team: Worth testing video generation against your current workflow โ but vet the content safety controls first.

Know What Matters in Tech Before It Hits the Mainstream
By the time AI news hits CNBC, CNN, Fox, and even social media, the info is already too late. What feels โnewโ to most people has usually been in motion for weeks โ sometimes months โ quietly shaping products, markets, and decisions behind the scenes.
Forward Future is a daily briefing for people who want to stay competitive in the fastest evolving technology shift weโve ever seen. Each day, we surface the AI developments that actually matter, explain why theyโre important, and connect them to what comes next.
We track the real inflection points: model releases, infrastructure shifts, policy moves, and early adoption signals that determine how AI shows up in the world โ long before it becomes a talking point on TV or a trend on your feed.
It takes about five minutes to read.
The insight lasts all day.

๐ป Vibe Coding Crossed the Line From Toy to Tool

People are building apps quicker than ever with no coding background. That's vibe coding, and it went from party trick to legitimate workflow faster than anyone expected.
The term was coined early last year to describe building software by talking to AI instead of writing code. Most early tools still required you to understand what the AI was doing. That changed when tools like Claude Code gave the AI full read/write access to files and let it plan, debug, and loop on tasks for hours without hand-holding.
What's different now:
Non-programmers are shipping real products. Not just prototypes, functional apps with databases, user auth, and payment processing
Anthropic built Cowork using Claude Code in a week and a half. Their team said they spent more time on product decisions than writing code
The vibe is spreading past code. Product managers, marketers, and ops teams are using the same AI agent approach to automate workflows, build dashboards, and run multi-step processes they'd normally hand to engineering
The honest caveat: there's still a gap between a working prototype and a secure, production-ready application. Vibe coding gets you to "it works" fast. Getting from "it works" to "it's ready for real users" still takes someone who understands what the code is actually doing.
The market is responding. Anthropic raised another $10 billion at a $350 billion valuation. Lovable, a vibe coding platform, went from zero to $200M in yearly revenue in 12 months. Cursor, Windsurf, and Codex are all fighting for the same users.
For your team: The bigger opportunity isn't just code. If your team has product managers, analysts, or ops people who keep waiting on engineering for internal tools, dashboards, or automations, vibe productivity means they can build a working version themselves. Start with low-stakes internal tools. Production-facing code still needs human review.

๐ฏ How To Turn Any PDF Into a Whiteboard Explainer

Want to ride the trend of whiteboard graphics on LinkedIn? Turn it into a visual whiteboard breakdown that actually gets shared. ChatGPT generates professor-style diagrams with arrows, boxes, and color-coded sections that make complex ideas click instantly.
Open ChatGPT
Upload your PDF. Reports, papers, slide decks, and strategy docs all work
Paste the prompt below:
Transform this PDF into a professor-style whiteboard image, include diagrams, arrows, boxes, and short captions that explain the core ideas visually. Use color highlights to make concepts easy to follow. If the first result isn't right, tell ChatGPT what to fix: "simplify the diagram," "add more arrows between concepts," "make the text larger," "use fewer colors"
Download and share. Works great for LinkedIn posts.

๐ AI Buzz Bits
๐ OpenAI is retiring GPT-4o from ChatGPT on February 13. GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1 mini, and o4-mini are going too. OpenAI says only 0.1% of users still pick GPT-4o daily now that GPT-5.2 has taken over. GPT-4o was the model users fought to keep last year when OpenAI tried swapping it for GPT-5 and the backlash was loud enough that OpenAI brought it back.
๐ Apple bought Israeli AI startup Q.ai for ~$2 billion. The company's tech reads facial skin micro-movements to decode silent speech like mouthing words without making a sound. Q.ai's co-founder previously helped build Face ID. The tech could enable silent voice commands for Siri across AirPods, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro. It's Apple's biggest acquisition since Beats.
๐ฎ Google launched Project Genie. AI that generates interactive 3D worlds. Describe a scene in text and walk through it in real time. It renders at 720p and simulates physics, and generates the path ahead as you move.
