Hey folks,

Anthropic just made Claude Cowork a night-shift employee. Cowork can now run scheduled tasks like morning briefings, weekly spreadsheet updates, Friday presentations, all while you sleep. The company added a Customize section for managing plugins and skills, plus access to specialized plugins for design, law, and tech. A new sidebar lets you manage connections and see what's running. As with any agent that touches your files at 3am: be careful about what you give it access to.

🍌 Nano Banana 2: Google's Image Gen Is Production-Grade

Google just dropped Nano Banana 2, and I've been waiting for this one. The original Nano Banana went viral last summer with millions of images generated in the Gemini app. But it had the same problem as every other image model: text looked like a toddler wrote it, and characters changed faces between panels.

Nano Banana 2 fixes both. Here's what's new:

  • Text that works: Infographics, posters, greeting cards with readable typography. Marketing teams can finally use this stuff without a designer cleaning it up

  • Character consistency: Maintains the same face, clothing, and style across up to 5 characters. Storyboards, comics, product sequences all in sync between scenes

  • Web-grounded generation: Ask for a specific landmark and it searches the web for visual references instead of hallucinating from training data

For your team: If your marketing or design team is still manually fixing AI-generated images, Nano Banana 2 is worth a test. The character consistency alone could save hours on any multi-image project.

🖥️ Perplexity's Big Bet: 19 AI Models, One Digital Worker

Perplexity just launched Computer, and the pitch is ambitious: stop thinking about which AI to use. Let the system figure it out.

Here's the idea. Computer orchestrates 19 different AI models depending on the task. Claude Opus 4.6 handles reasoning and coding. GPT-5.2 manages long-context search. Gemini powers deep research. Nano Banana generates images. Veo 3.1 does video. Grok runs fast lightweight tasks. You describe what you want and the system routes each piece to the right model.

And these aren't quick tasks. Perplexity says workflows can run for hours, days, even months. You set it up, walk away, come back to results.

The weird part: this is a bet against any single model being the answer. CEO Aravind Srinivas has been saying "the orchestration is the product, the model is a tool." While OpenAI and Anthropic race to build the best foundation model, Perplexity is betting the future belongs to whoever coordinates them best.

Some practical details:

  • $200/month (Perplexity Max tier only)

  • 10,000 monthly credits, plus 20,000 bonus credits at launch

  • 400+ app integrations and persistent memory across sessions

  • Perplexity Comet browser coming to iOS next month

I'm genuinely curious how this plays out. The "just tell it what you want" pitch sounds great, but multi-model orchestration adds complexity. What happens when Claude and GPT disagree? Who decides? The value proposition is clearest for people who were already juggling multiple AI tools and now it's one interface, one bill, one memory.

For your team: If you're paying for multiple AI subscriptions and constantly switching between them, Computer might consolidate that. At $200/month, the math works if it replaces even two or three other tools.

🐝 AI Buzz Bits

💰 OpenAI closes $110B at $730B valuation. The largest private funding round in history. $50B from Amazon, $30B each from Nvidia and SoftBank. Microsoft sat this one out. Post-money valuation: $840B.

📱 Apple delays Gemini-powered Siri past iOS 26.4. The new Siri was supposed to ship in March. Now it's looking like May (iOS 26.5) or September (iOS 27). The 1.2 trillion param model still struggles with response consistency.

⚖️ Trump bans Anthropic from Pentagon, OpenAI takes the contract. Anthropic refused to allow mass surveillance and autonomous weapons. Pentagon designated them a "supply chain risk to national security." Hours later, OpenAI announced a deal for classified networks.
