✨ Learn to be AI fluent..

+ Veo3 gets burnt

Hey folks,

There’s a new AI pattern emerging on top of the Em Dash, it’s the “It’s not X, it’s Y” structure. You’ve seen it before “We’re not just building a product, we’re creating an experience.” It’s the kind of thing that sounds polished at first, but once you notice it, you can’t un-see it. AI loves this format because it makes content feel more sophisticated. The problem now is that it’s everywhere, Blogs, LinkedIn posts, newsletters. And it’s starting to feel old. So if you need help from AI, include this prompt.

“Avoid any sentence structures that set up and then negate or expand beyond expectations (like 'X isn't just about Y' or 'X is more than just Y'). Instead, use direct, affirmative statements. Feel free to be creative with your sentence structures and expression styles.”

“Hmm... did I just become AI fluent?”

🐝 The Buzz: Anthropic is rolling out a new course to help us humans get better at working with AI. Instead of leaning towards development, the course is designed to help developing practical skills to collaborate effectively with AI.

The course introduces the AI Fluency Framework, which consists of four core competencies: Delegation, Description, Discernment, and Diligence. These skills are designed to help you interact with AI in ways that are effective, efficient, ethical, and safe.

🤔 So, what’s actually new here?

  • University-grade, zero tuition: The program packs 12 bite-size lessons into that 3-4-hour window and hands you a shareable certificate.

  • The 4D playbook, not prompt hacks: Core content revolves around Delegation, Description, Discernment, and Diligence. Skills meant to outlast the next model update.

  • Hands-on and model-agnostic: Exercises work with Claude or the chatbot of your choice, and include “Bad Prompt Makeover” drills to sharpen your AI BS radar

🧠 Use it like this

Marketing Teams: Use AI to draft initial versions of campaign emails. Apply the 4Ds to decide which parts to delegate, how to describe your brand voice, discern the quality of AI-generated content, and ensure ethical use of AI in communications.

Researchers: Leverage AI to analyze large datasets. Use Delegation to assign data processing tasks, Description to provide context, Discernment to verify AI's analysis, and Diligence to address ethical considerations in publishing AI-assisted research.

🎯 Bottom Line

AI Fluency is about developing the skills to work effectively with AI. By focusing on Delegation, Description, Discernment, and Diligence, you can enhance your collaboration with AI systems, making your work better with a durable framework for safe, savvy AI work.

🎥 SeeDance vs. Veo: ByteDance’s New Video Bot

🐝 The Buzz: ByteDance quietly dropped SeeDance 1.0, a text- and image-to-video model that it claims tops Google’s brand-new Veo 3 on prompt accuracy, motion realism, and overall image sharpness.

  • Leader of the pack: In ByteDance’s head-to-heads, SeeDance scored highest for sticking to detailed prompts like precise camera moves, consistent characters, and multi-scene narratives, while Veo 3 shone mainly on audio and 4K fidelity.

  • Giant training buffet: The team fed the model a mountain of licensed and public clips, then scrubbed logos, subtitles, and violent frames before layering in ultra-detailed motion and style tags. That clean-room data diet is billed as the secret sauce behind its tight instruction following.

  • Quick on its feet: A five-second 1080p clip spits out in roughly 41 seconds, around a 10× speed-up over ByteDance’s earlier prototypes and a hair quicker than standard Veo 3.

  • But no soundtrack… yet: SeeDance can’t generate audio, while Veo 3 now adds ambient sounds and dialogue straight into its clips.

💡 Takeaway: SeeDance 1.0 proves ByteDance isn’t just a TikTok factory, it’s gunning for the top tier of AI video. If its blistering speed and prompt discipline hold up outside lab tests, creators may soon have a new go-to for fast, coherent clips.
